myone99 Carlsberg is a resilient counter. will b able to withstand this coming market crash. all they need is our new PH government to clam down on contra band beer and alcohol. their raw mat cost is 30% ingredient and 70% water. what type of product is better than this. all they need to do is marketing and better distribution channel. I know this current CEO and he is so hard working and I think he will be able to bring this company to next level.

jun8 Both Heineken and Carlsberg are stocks to be kept for long term since they are a duopoly; in addition, as Malaysia becomes more progressive, young people of all races will drink more. No brainer investment, will accumulate more if the price goes down.

3iii Essentially a duopoly.

Beverages companies have long term durable competitive advantages.

Their accounts reflect these.

Hold for the long term.

3iii 6. From 2008 to 2017, Carlsberg Malaysia has generated RM1.99 billion in cash flows from operations. Out of which, it has used RM269.0 million for capital expenditures and RM1.52 billion for dividend payments. Its steady cash flow means Carlsberg Malaysia is a cash-producing business and does not need to continually raise equity or debt to grow its business or reward its shareholders with dividends.

Source: Annual Reports of Carlsberg Malaysia

7. Carlsberg Malaysia has paid a steady and growing dividend since 2009. Dividend per share has grown more than eight-fold from 9 sen in 2009 to 77 sen in 2017. Based on its closing share price of RM19.46 as at 15 May 2018, its dividend yield is 4.0% — the lowest since 2011. From 2011 to 2017, the company’s dividend yield ranged between 4.5% to 6.1%. Moving forward, Carlsberg Malaysia has stated it intends to deliver quarterly dividends with a targeted dividend payout ratio of 75%. A special dividend will also be considered for the final quarter subject to the company’s cash requirements.

The mkt for these high quality brands CORONA, ASAHI, 1664 etc. r relatively untapped in ASIA.

LongTermInvestment Something is brewing.

“It could be classic non-alcoholic versions of our existing drinks, like removing the alcohol content from Carlsberg. “Or, it could be new product segments — we are unable to disclose further at this point in time. “It is important that our new product(s) are the right solutions for our Malaysian consumers,” he said.
