Lioncity I guess Panamy price is going no where until the announcement of the dividend date.
19/07/2018 17:10
Lioncity Foreign funds have been disposing Panamy share bits by bits, stopping it from going up. That’s about a 10% discounted since the bumper dividend announcement.
19/07/2018 17:12

RainT Anybody can update more about Panamy downsizing for Msia factory ?

Is it true ?
29/07/2018 18:54
ktsk88 Whether the factory is here or in Thailand as long the cost is lower with demand supplied from Thailand then the profit should be spectacular.
29/07/2018 20:44
RainT If the factory is in Thailand it is still under panasonic Malaysia ?

I just worry they shift it to another panasonic group of companies ...no more under Panasonic Malaysia

09/08/2018 23:02
paperplane Good company iz very cheap. But if you believe their brand name, i thinl they can go very far in middle east and whole asian mkt. The mgt style also very good. Stable and expandijg carefully.
10/08/2018 08:04
Fabien Extraordinaire yes, subjective. to me, paying 17x PE for Panamy is fair.

fair price ?

how much is the fair price? very subjective though
10/08/2018 09:17
Fabien Extraordinaire i think i want to set up a portfolio. 30% of capital on good quality companies. passive investing style. really LT holdings say min 10 years.

i would include Panamy in.
10/08/2018 20:34
Yip2880 ongkkh Yip2880 your info is reliable or simply tembak?

Bro, this is my personal opinion / analysis and it is not just simply tembak.

To me, if Panamy is to eventually shift the entire manufacturing operations out of Malaysia, you need to ask the following:

1. Will the overseas operations be still under the umbrella of the Malaysian plc?
2. Or will they set up a new subsidiary directly under Panasonic Japan?

If event No. does 2 takes place, then the Malaysian operations will be scaled down to just a distribution arm. If that materialises, you need to ask the following:

1. Will Panamy be able to maintain its profit margins as well as dividend payments as it does now?
2. If it can't maintain, then what would be a more realistic value for Panamy shares

Take a look at BAT.

Hence that's why I hope that they privatise the company.
11/08/2018 21:06
Yip2880 Btw, that could be another reason why the management is reluctant to declare bonus shares by capitalising on their retained earnings of more than RM 1/2 bil. Distribution business does not require high paid-up capital.

As mentioned earlier, just my opinion / analysis but is also not simply tembak.
11/08/2018 21:36
Lim Tek Wai best timing to buy
13/08/2018 12:01
ongkkh Yip2880, thanks for the explanation. However I will continue to hold this counter. Too many assumption and analysis make the mind blurs!
13/08/2018 20:38
Yip2880 ongkkh, you're most welcome.

I am also still holding this counter. But like what I mentioned earlier, I would prefer a privatisation exercise if the company eventually decides to relocate its entire manufacturing operations overseas.
14/08/2018 00:29
ktsk88 Do not sell, just hold since HLG just come out with TP of 43.50.

I believe the company will split the shares once above 40.00.
14/08/2018 09:59
Yael Jasper Best timing to invest
14/08/2018 10:08
Fabien Extraordinaire its better for them to do split to improve trading liquidity
