W16Y Based on earning margin % = 19%
EBITDA approx 9m ... minus depreciation +- become nett

Not bad performance during MCO.

Based on the logic, the only reason the% is good because of lower resin & also efficiency (customers should be giving more orders ahead during this period ) they able to have more long run orders to achieve better cost efficiency.

But looking at announced revenue is only 47m+ ...
Hence believe more orders were printed and only delivered after June. Should be more forward sales from overseas too as it report 33m+ .
Revenue should be coming more in coming Qs.

As reported by executive director, is was only running at 30% capacity. Previous expansion expected capacity to achieve approx 130m-150m revenue a quarter.

Any potential Oversea buyer that can come in to take a major stake & fill up the future capacity . Will be a Big turnaround . ( European and other countries might be facing operating difficulties and unable to deliver based on demand as they facing control issues and lockdown) . This will be an ideal place for them to run their packaging . Cheers

OldOldhorse Anyone attended the AGM on Wednesday ? Heard the board was under pressure to perform in coming Qs.
Heard that ED discloses the order book till date achieved 88% of last year revenue . It was minuted and expecting better coming Q3 & Q4

OldOldhorse Chairman did mention to bring back those Quarters that pay good dividend . Their policy was minimum 40% of earnings.

Look at Q2 figures , they should be able to generate better EBITDA & NP in coming Qs

Winnerwinner Best fiery AGM ever. Everyone MD, ED, BOD brought to task for the straight 4 years of sales and profit decline from 2016-2019. They were told not to give the same old excuses given for those years - shifting, alignment, one year is lost international customer, another is lost local customer. For the same period Daibochi, a benchmark as it is a Tier 1 FPP continued to grow at around 4% year after year and franked out dividends every year.

Every year in the Chairman's report from 2016- 2019 there is a statement that the BOD recognise the performance is below expectations. Every year under Prospects, BOD said the immediate year will be better. This year, the mew Chairman wrote that the 2019 loss was unexpected. We'll, simply put, KPIs not met and some people did not do their job while drawing salaries. TP management and BOD only gave sheer excuses for inept performance of the ED and MD. and The BOD sat for board meetings every quarter for 4 years and watched the decline year after year.

Many contentious issues brought up. Wont go into it here. It will be interesting how truthful reporting will be for such a fiery AGM. Wait for Key Matters Summary done and posted in their website. Dirty linen must be washed in public before those sitting in the drivers seat realise they have failed the shareholders in their fiduciary duties.

Nevertheless, as a consequence of COVID19 where demand for flexible packaging has picked up, TP will be a beneficiary of the pandemic that has rocked the world. At least for the short term. In the long term, there will need to be an overhaul of Key Management to people who understand how to work with new machines, technology and has the leadership to build new teams and get new business

If you didn't go to this AGM, you would have missed one of the best AGMs ever. At the start of the AGM the MD roared at one shareholder who asked that the Key Management be replaced in view of the failure to deliver profits continuously. The MD said while pointing a finger at the young shareholder- you go and buy more shares, then come and sit in my chair as MD, turn around the company and I shall enjoy the profits as I am a substantial shareholder

However the MD was promptly put in place when another shareholder stood up and repriminded the MD that shareholding has nothing to do with the MDs post. Anyone with the right qualifications and experience can become the MD without holding a single share. MD promptly shut up. By the end of the AGM and with all his other misdemeanours pointed out he was slouching in his char quiet as a mouse. It shows the mentality of the MD when he equates the MD post with his shareholdings!

All in all a damn good meeting and everyone sitting in front deserved what they got reprimanded for. This company has potential to fly if there is an overhaul in thinking and management of the company's assets. Let us see what is the outcome. Don't forget to read the Key Matters discussed when it is posted in their website - goodness knows when as it is the most difficult and embarrassing summary a company secretary has to make

Good show shareholders.MD, ED, BOD all kena kau2 in public and minuted.
From now on , it should be Go Tomypak Go !

St0000ck https://www.plasticstoday.com/resin-pricing/weekly-resin-report-processors-face-thinning-supplies-and-escalating-prices

It has been a month since Hurricane Laura ravaged Louisiana, but it continues to have an impact on resin trading, as heavy demand from both processors and resellers came up against insufficient supplies caused by production disruptions. Area resin plants remain without power and are unable to restart for another couple of weeks, possibly longer, reports the PlasticsExchange in in its weekly Market Update.

Prime resin availability, especially polypropylene (PP), dwindled further. Consequently, many buyers have become more flexible in their sourcing requirements — suddenly, good off grade does not look so bad. PGP monomer contracts rolled steady and PP contracts disengaged from their lock-step correlation to these upstream costs, as a $0.03/lb margin-enhancing increase finally — and deservedly — took hold this month. Spot polyethylene (PE) prices trudged another penny higher, as producers implemented their September $0.05/lb increase, the fourth in as many months. Another nickel uptick looms for October.

PP demand was heavy and sourcing was difficult amid force majeure–fueled scarce supplies, sending spot PP prices up another two cents. They were generally well above contract levels, which are also rising. Prime PP railcars remained absent from the secondary market and buyers competed for good off-grade material. Some low-quality railcars sold into compounding. Resellers provided some prime liquidity from their warehoused inventories and buyers in need scooped up all seemingly good deals: Homo-polymer PP 12, 20, and 35 melts flew off the shelves; some Prime Raffia remained.

Q12 : The sales are recognised when the products are delivered / transferred to customers. In addition, finished goods produced according to orders received (but not delivered) as of quarter end will also be recognised as revenue to be in line with the accounting standard, MFRS 15, effective from 1 January 2018. Thus far, based on the actual to-date amount, the Company has achieved about 88% of last year turnover. The Management strongly believes that the turnover would improve this year as compared to last year.

88% of rm158m sales = 139m done as per 18/8/20
Q1+Q2 = rm80m sales reported.
Half of Q3 = rm59m In hand .
Full Q3 projected at least rm80m ?
59m already will be record breaking quarter .
80m ? Will be a huge turnaround.. NO wonder MD been buying aggressive for past 12 months.

Based on the ratio of Q2 , 47m turnover EBITDA reporter is Rm9m = the profit margin = 19% +-

Assume they achieve 80m x 19% = rm15.8m EBITDA

Minus depreciation & miscellaneous.
NP can be easily rm10m

Worse case rm59m reported . They recognized 60m for Q3 EBITDA = rm 12.8m - depreciation = NP rm7.5-8m in hand .

This should be the minimal profit ... & will be a recording breaking Q . Finally turnaround for the company after 8Q of failure ( MD confidently Selling of his money making Johortin & increase stake in this company)

Will be interesting Quarter .... Unless the Information provided by ED at AGM is false or misleading . Well , let's see ...
