19/10/2020 1:27 PM
johnbrooks Am i missing something? This company looks a lot better than other plastic packaging companies. Valuation wise its the cheapest. No debt. I have both bpplas and tguan at the moment. But was just wondering why bpplas is trading at only 11x vs tguan 17x? Not complaining though. Just wish it could go up as fast as tguan.
23/10/2020 6:38 PM
Lyo82 Revenue and profit margin are the factors. when those two can close the gap or get on par with the big boys, Bpplas valuation will be improved further.

Jarklp Cash is going up, ytd cash flow from operation is also up from last quarter. Revenue is lower due to lower selling price, but margin is improving..

Fifth consecutive quarter of 2 cents dividend.. Nice!
23/11/2020 9:31 PM
growth_investor idk what to comment anymore, look at that EPS, DPS, although revenue drop (due to covid-19), PAT increases steadily. What can we demand at this current environment? BRAVO bpplas !
24/11/2020 12:14 AM
christy20 bro,,,how come quarter result is good but today price is dropping ya?
24/11/2020 10:14 AM
Starship2 One reason could be it is not covered by analysts due to its relatively small size. Bpplas has a market cap of roughly 298m compared to teguan's 1.1b and scientx's 6.4b But value wise i feel it is a good stock to hold..
24/11/2020 11:41 AM
Lyo82 Profit is staying firm QoQ, balance sheet is solid and clean as always, no doubt on management quality.
However I think revenue growth is a concern for Bpplas. When their product price is lowered yet the sales volume does not increase, it probably means the plastic market competition is really tough or they don't have the pricing power.

Besides I think they hold too much cash, now aldy more than 1/3 of total equity. If no proper planning for expansion, they should declare better dividends.

ladislav_varga anyone know who is behind LG CAPITAL SDN BHD as they are the main shareholder and what mandate they do have
03/02/2021 1:10 PM
Jarklp Stable and predictable results, no surprise, another 2 cents dividend... 5.7% dividend yield, nice!
24/02/2021 11:44 PM
sandy43 2cents dividend, no suprise for share holder, share price also still stuck in about 1.38-1.40 !!!
12/03/2021 6:12 PM
Zackmeiser after extensive reading of similar companies, BP plastic are still trading below its peer. Low PE and debt free with stable earnings and respectable DY. Wonder why share price always remain stagnant. probably 1.80-2.0 counter at least.
26/03/2021 2:57 PM
Lyo82 Bpplas cash piles keep growing. I am more concerned what the management going to do with that.
If they have no intention to pursue growth, why not declare higher dividend?
03/04/2021 9:31 AM
david6055my 2 cent per quarter dividend is quite attractive. 5.8% PA

Lyo82 Great job, Salute to BPPLAS management team!
27/05/2021 2:53 PM
cherry88 I attended the BPPLAS virtual AGM. the RM35.6 mil CAPEX - to install an additional high-end line which is more environmental friendly is currently 25% completed, and target to complete by end of this year. Capacity is expected to improve by 17% in FY2022 with higher margin by 20% (higher price).
As per its latest quarterly profit of some RM10mil, we can expect it will hit another record high of RM40 mil in FY2021 or EPS of 20sen. Given its historically divided payout of 50%, we could expect anohther record divided of 10sen this year. This translate to PE of 7.5x with yield of 6.7%. the company is debt-free and plan its capital allocation between CAPEX and rewarding shareholders well.
Management is aware the plastic industry is not really environmentally friendly. They are trying new investment to improve on this area too. So, I believe its valuation is expected be be further upgraded once it is in the radar of major research houses.

JayC88 eps just a bit shy of Tguan, dividend is much higher, price is only 60% of Tguan. nuff said.

Brutus BPPLAS profit margin is way better than TGUAN. For value investing, BPPLAS is a very solid choice. Sit back and collect quarterly dividends.

tradesafely 1.38 before qr out seems to be good ep
28/05/2021 12:36 PM
Brutus Got to appreciate the management for the generous dividends. Expecting another bumper dividends next quarter as they bought a lot of resins before the prices increased. Can see from their factory the resins are stored up to the guard house.

Patrick13 BP Plastics Holding Bhd (Fundamental BUY with TP 2.28)
• We are sanguine on the prospect of BP Plastics Holding Bhd (BPPLAS) as a prominent Polyethylene (PE) film player and see demand to pick up from the resumption of global and regional trade activities from 2H2021 amid on-going capacity expansion.
• The stretch film maker is currently trading at undemanding valuation of FY22 PER 8x further supported by projected attractive dividend yield of 5.8%. Solid balance sheet with zero borrowings. BUY with target price of RM2.28 based on 11.5x FY22 PER as per the 5-year average valuation.
• BBPLAS is now one of the largest PE film makers in Asia, supplying cast stretch film and industrial packaging films and bags to over 54 countries. About 76% of the sales are export driven supplying to countries across Asia, Middle East, Europe and North American region. We expect the order for stretch films and industrial bags to pick up due to anticipated global trade recovery in 2H2021 of which the company is currently experiencing especially from Japan.
• BPPLAS has a combined production capacity of 8,500 MT/month and to deploy new 9th cast stretch film machine (to be commissioned by end FY21) from most of the capex spending of RM35.6m. 75% of the sales are derived from stretch films and 25% are from blown PE films. Presently, approximately 40% of the stretch film are premium products (thin gauge film), commanding 20% - 30% higher selling price than the conventional films.
• We expect the proportion of premium film to conventional film to increase with the new cast stretch film line in place. For blown film division, due to highly customized specification to fit for different industrial purposes, it garners higher margin though volume is lower when compared to stretch film.
• The plastics packaging industry in Malaysia has over the years undergone consolidation. In effect, the elimination of competition has enabled BPPLAS and other industry player like TGUAN to gain access to new clients where previously was not possible, which is an added advantage.
• BPPLAS average dividend payout ratio is attractive at 58.3% over the past 5 years, translating to a projected yield of 5.8%. Its zero borrowings and cash position of RM76.1m would comfortably fund future CAPEX requirements.
• All in, we forecast EPS growth of 13% for FY21 and 11% for FY22 respectively. BPPLAS is an attractive value proposition given its undemanding valuation and decent dividend yield.
