greedy44444 Do you think MAS could be able to handle all the flights by themselves ? MAS already in the red for so many years since the time Renong and UEM. MAS if not because of gomen pumping billions into it, MAS should already became an embarrassment to the nation long time ago.

greedy44444 In future which airlines going to fly you to your destination without AAX and AirAsia ? MAS ? Malindo ? MAS and Malindo also facing the same problem la...Next time Malaysian just stay at home, no planes going to bring you to your destination. Even you use other airlines, the fares that you going to pay is definitely beyond your imagination because of no competition from low cost airlines, all closed shop already.

ocpd @greedy just because you are poor and can’t afford better airlines doesn’t mean there are no other airlines than AA & AAX in this world.
05/08/2020 10:06 PM
ocpd Let me tell you why AA is the worst airline in the world:

1) Always yell at passengers like they are cattle
2) 90% of their flights are delayed
3) Cancel flights last minute without compensation
4) Crappy websites upselling you car rentals, hotels & insurances
5) Charge you convenient fees for using credit cards
6) Burn your flight ticket if you book wrongly even just 5 mins ago
7) Cram their seats to maximize profit
8) Won't refund you cash, only refund you credits
9) Hire very rude customer services and cabin crew
10) Never pick up their customer service hotline
11) Have to walk 30 mins to their gates
12) Crappy and confusing mobile app

You deserve better budget airlines after AA dies!

Good123 NEW YORK: Virgin Atlantic, the airline founded by British businessman Richard Branson, filed Tuesday for protection in U.S. bankruptcy court as it tries to survive the virus pandemic that is hammering the airline industry.

The airline made the Chapter 15 filing in U.S. federal bankruptcy court in New York after a proceeding in the United Kingdom.

A spokeswoman for Virgin Atlantic said the bankruptcy filing is part of a court process in the United Kingdom to carry out a restructuring plan that the airline announced last month. The process is supported by a majority of the airline's creditors, and the company hopes to emerge from the process in September, she said.

A Virgin Atlantic lawyer said in a court filing that the company needs an order from a U.S. court to make terms of the restructuring apply in the U.S.

The airline is primarily a long-haul operator, including flights between the U.K. and the U.S. It stopped flying in April due to the pandemic and only resumed flights in July. It closed a base at London's Gatwick Airport and cut about 3,500 jobs.

Branson appealed to the British government for financial help earlier this year - even saying that he would pledge his Caribbean island resort as collateral for a loan - but was rebuffed.

Good123 PublicInvest Research said AAX is now in a severe bind given its negative shareholders’ equity position — which has triggered caution by its external auditors on its ability to continue as a going concern — with the worst of its financial troubles likely yet to be seen.

“Based on our estimates, the group may require at least RM1.2 billion of equity funding to convert its current negative shareholders’ equity to a positive position, though we understand that the bulk of its negative equity were caused by unrealised forex loss and aircraft lease liabilities (under Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards 16 [MFRS 16]).

"The group could also opt to issue perpetual bonds, though it could be a challenge given its current financial plight and the likelihood of extremely exacting requirements by investors,” said the research house.

The research house is troubled over AAX's near- to mid-term outlook, with its viability as a going concern an immediate priority. As such, it has maintained its “underperform” call on AAX with a lower target price of one sen.

According to Bloomberg, AAX has seven analysts covering the stock. Six of them have "sell" calls while one has a "hold" call.

Year-to-date, AAX has declined 65% from 16 sen on Dec 31, 2019.

maimunah Six companies trigger PN17/GN3 criteria
Six companies, which accounted for 0.67 per cent of the total listed companies on Bursa Malaysia, have triggered the suspended criteria of PN17 and GN3 as at July 28, 2020.
That consisted of five Main Market listed companies and one ACE Market listed company, respectively, according to Bursa Malaysia.
"Apart from AirAsia Group Bhd, four other Main Market companies that have triggered the suspended criteria of PN17 as at April 17, 2020 were, namely Gets Global Bhd, Ikhmas Jaya Group Bhd, Khee San Bhd, and Cymao Holdings Bhd, while Bahvest Resources Bhd has triggered the suspended criteria of GN3," it said.
However, Bursa Malaysia said these companies would not be classified as PN17/GN3 companies, and would not be required to comply with the obligations under the paragraph/Rule 8.04 and PN17 or GN3 of the listing requirements for 12 months, following the relief measures announced by the exchange on April 16, 2020.
To record, Bursa Malaysia said 23 companies had been classified under PN17 and three companies under GN3 as at July 28, 2020, representing 2.89 per cent of the total companies listed on the local exchange during the period.

06/08/2020 1:53 PM
greedy44444 I'm on the same mission too

pharker Actually I am looking for a stock to buy fitting the criteria :-

1. Worst impact by covid 19...almost go bankrupt but did not, too big to fail, hence share price hit rock bottom during pandemic, almost died but hang on
2. Once vaccine developed, just a matter of time given the huge resources poured in and the enormous market potential and profit given the extent of this pandemic, the stock will rebound like crazy

1 and 2 meaning a very sharp V-shaped recovery stock, for max bagger gain

The one famous classic example is Citigroup during the housing bubble crisis..almost went bankrupt and my uncle bought it at ridiculous USD 0.40 and when rebounded, he enjoyed an early retirement from his mundane 9 to 5 job.

May be I found one today, not as fierce as Citigroup, but maybe a good smaller scale proxy to its story.

greedy44444 AAX going to the moon Monday along with AirAsia...grab it Monday morning before it fly to 15 cents next week
08/08/2020 12:13 PM
greedy44444 AirAsia Group Bhd, Asia’s leading low cost carrier (LCC), has secured financing to the tune of RM1bil that will give it the much needed cash flow to survive the turbulent times of the industry.

Sources say a consortium of local banks has put together the financing package that the LCC can withdraw over time. It will now seek a guarantee from Danajamin for 80% of the loan. Drawdown on the loan is contingent upon AirAsia flying to international destinations. The hope is that travel bubbles will be initiated in stages to destinations in Asia, with Singapore set to be the first stop.

“The money should be enough for now for AirAsia to tide over the turbulent times that the airline industry is going through due to the Coronavirus pandemic. It is also the first major loan that is being disbursed via the Danajamin loan guarantee scheme, ” says a source.

AirAsia is the leading LCC in Asia with its reach stretching up to China. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was forced to shut down the operations for almost a month in April. The LCC resumed operations in May by flying mainly domestic routes. Passenger bookings, flight frequencies and load factors are gradually improving
08/08/2020 12:15 PM
greedy44444 Cargo operations are said to be enjoying robust business and load factors are up to 70% but without travel being opened to international destinations, AirAsia will not be able to make a profit by just relying on domestic routes.

According to the latest set of results, AirAsia swung in the red in the first quarter to the tune of RM803.85mil. For the first time in many years, the LCC recorded a negative earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA).

AirAsia’s EBITDA was in deficit of RM28.5mil compared to a healthy RM525.6mil in the corresponding period a year ago. The biggest expense items are staff cost, fuel cost and maintenance and overhaul cost.

AirAsia still has RM1.6bil in its kitty to run its operations. However it would not be enough to see through the operations in the difficult times and the RM1bil cash injection is expected to help it through next year.

“The RM1bil in financing is what the major shareholders of AirAsia were looking for to tide over the tough times. It should be sufficient for now, ” says a source.
08/08/2020 12:16 PM
greedy44444 Airlines in Asia have resumed flying and in an interview last month, he said the airline is confident its business will continue to survive, given the efforts already undertaken to raise cash and to cut costs, more importantly to see its cash expenses drop by 50% this year.

With revenue now up and costs being cut, the airline’s cash burn rate will lessen and it is also seeing major improvements in its digital businesses that has seen big jumps in activity since the MCO.

“Our logistics model through Teleport is doing really good. We have permission now to use our passenger planes to carry cargo, which means we are operating almost 60% as a freighter. That is a growing business and we are now trying to look at land logistics to supplement our air logistics and no one can match our network. Teleport is very valuable, he said in the interview.

“We have built a nice e-commerce and food platform business. The thesis of our digital business is that you convert your big database into other products. It is predicated by Big Points, which is now the largest Asean points provider.

“Our digital is split into travel and we are now doing a massive deal with a massive airline and that is going to prove the thesis. It is a global brand and they want to be on AirAsia’s platform to sell their products. Because of Covid, we will catch up with Expedia and the other brands in terms of hotel supply.

“What we built in three months we could never do in normal time. We had three months of doing nothing and that enabled us to rethink our whole digital strategy and build it up and really focus on it. What would have been done in 18 months was done in three months. We didn’t waste the time, ” he said.

sharewiz118 It's a long haul, debt remain intact and it's real, secure loan mean given some room and window to restructure the operation of the company, certainly AA has to focus and perform twice as hard to stay flying/floating. If AA core business able to sustain till vaccine are found where flight operation resume to the norm, probably Tony would sing "I was petrified but i will survive"
