Jun Yi Lim I think it is due to decline of palm oil price and palm oil outlook, 70% of ta ann eaening come from palm oil.
02/12/2018 11:00 PM
Jun Yi Lim Cut loss this counter, will be back when palm oil price recover

sleang interesting findings...on 30-nov, epf sold 423,104 shares(http://www.bursamalaysia.com/market/listed-companies/company-announcements/5997329), on 5-dec (T+3) (http://www.bursamalaysia.com/market/listed-companies/company-announcements/6002217), bought back same amount of shares, assuming they could sell at higher avg price than their bought in price on 5-Dec, but only few bids difference...=.=

sleang MoM production numbers came in within expectations as palm oil related numbers were lower in Nov due to rainy season, logging went back to normal avg levels, similar to other plantation players...the difference btwn Taann and other plantation players during the past 4wks is that taann have been buying back its own shares almost everyday from early dec till today, making some use of its cash pile sitting in the bank :)

sleang January's logging production is back to as it should, while palm oil related productions saw some drops as expected. Feb's production may see some drop due to bush fires in Tasmania..
24/02/2019 6:05 PM
lizi not bad, at least way better than JTIASA....but too bad momentum affected by bush fire...

"During January and February 2019, one of the veneer rotary mills under its subsidiary company, Ta Ann
Tasmania Pty Ltd located at Huon in the southern part of Tasmania is experiencing disrupted operation due to
bushfires. Damage to site infrastructure and loss of power to the site led to the temporary suspension of the
mill operations....."

Nepo I was wondering how it could make profit in the last quarter in the palm oil sector as the price of the CPO was badly hit to the bottom.

sleang Raplex FMU to undergo stage2 audit in the coming 18 Mar 19, gd luck Raplex management!
10/03/2019 4:15 PM
Nepo I was wondering why Ta Ann didn't provide impairment loss for its investment in Sarawak Plantation Bhd? It has purchased Sarawak Plantation Bhd @ RM 2 per share, but the market price of Sarawak Plantation Bhd as at 31 Dec 2018 is RM 1.64. Why Ta Ann didn't provide the impairment loss for the difference in its quarterly report as at 31 Dec 2018?

sleang q1 cpo productions are lower qoq, exception of logging production is higher qoq; with the avg price of cpo slightly higher qoq, hopefully the logging section can cushion the lower profits from palm..as long as cpo can sustain >2000 in the coming months, with the additional logging production to come up soon after raplex fmu obtained its certification in a few mths time, things should be better?

Nepo If provide impairment loss for Investment in Associate, Sarawak Plantation Bhd, in fact the company is incurred loss for the half year of Year 2019.

I was wondering whether the half year account for the financial year 31 Dec 2019 is complying with MFRS or not. The authority in charge should examine this issue seriously.

JeffreyTing MUMBAI (Sept 27): Malaysian palm oil prices are expected to trade between RM2,200 to RM2,300 per tonne in the fourth quarter 2019, the country's industry regulator forecast on Friday, as inventories may fall to 2 million tonnes by December.

Stockpiles of palm oil in Malaysia, the world's second largest producer, rose to a near two-decade high of 3.2 million tonnes at the end of 2018. Inventories fell for a sixth month in August to 2.25 million tonnes.

"For the past few months stocks are going down. So what we hope is that if stocks reduce further to below 2 million tonnes," said Ahmad Parveez Ghulam Kadir, director general of the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) on the sidelines of a conference in India.

Ahmad added that while the MPOB expected palm oil prices to trade around RM2,200 (US$525) to RM2,300 from October to December, "we are not comfortable with this price range," he said.

"If possible, we would like to go to RM2,500."

Benchmark palm oil prices fell to a six-week low this week on concerns of rising output and weak demand. It was at RM2,151 a tonne, down 0.8%, at Friday's midday break.

On exports, Ahmad forecast that Malaysian shipments in 2019 would increase at least 10% from a year earlier to 18.2 million tonnes, up from 16.5 million tonnes in 2018.

He revised downwards estimates for Malaysia's production this year to 20 million tonnes, slightly below a previous estimate of 20.3 million tonnes, but forecast that production in 2020 would rise to 20.5 million tonnes.
