treasure_seeker of course there is that risk of negative plastic demand, but the numbers in recent years QRs show steady growth in revenue & profit.. take that risk & just enjoy the potential dividend yield of 6.3% at current price.. no risk, no gain

cherry88 I have the same concern on its ESG issue too. However, management has indicated its initiative to invest into environment friendly machinery. I have extracted the relevant section from its annual report as below :

The Group has allocated approximately RM35.6 million of CAPEX investments in FY2021 as part of the Group’s ongoing strategic expansion plans to enhance shareholder value. This include a new 9th Cast Stretch Film machine, where installation and commissioning are expected to be completed by the end of 2021. This new technology stretch film machine will not only increase production capacity, but also broaden product offerings to cater for market demands for more sophisticated packaging requirements and sustainability-based packaging.

Management follows the 3Rs concepts of “Recycle, Reuse and Reduce”. We have sufficient waste
management know-how, technical expertise and capabilities to design the manufacturing process flow to incorporate the salvage and reclaim (“Recycle”) of our internally generated plastics waste, rejects and scraps. The recycling capacity utilisations are 71% and 83% in FY2020 and FY2019 respectively. The Recycling process is an enabler which also allows the outer packaging from our suppliers to be reused (“Reuse”) as raw materials for suitable industrial packaging film application.
Reuse further helps us to ensure that we can reduce (“Reduce”) our consumption of virgin raw materials at the same time keeping our waste footprint low, in support of the concept of circular economy and more efficient use of our valuable resources. As the Group remains focused on quality and product innovations, our Plant operations team were able to reduce the total plastics waste, rejects and scraps metric tonnes by 9.8% in FY2020.

wallstreetrookie @tradesafely it is easy to say things in hindsight. Unless you have inside info about the special dividend, it is impossible to predict earnings. Next time why don't share your due diligence here if you hate i3 comments that much. Yeah most of us were WRONG and not ashamed to admit our mistakes. Heck not every analyst gets earnings prediction right anyways.

million76 bp up a lot. I will switch to tguan now
23/08/2021 9:13 AM
Brutus Wow, nice gap up today from 1.90 to 2.08!
23/08/2021 9:42 AM
cherry88 Both Kenanga and Malacca had raised its TP to RM3.15 and RM3.06 respectively, mainly from its capacity expansion (as mentioned above) as well as its improvement in margin even with its 60% workforce.
Personally, I did not revise my own TP as yet....maintaining at RM2.40 !
23/08/2021 12:57 PM
Brutus Both these TP, the market cap will be larger than SCGM. Does not make sense as BPPLAS in factory size is no where near SCGM.
23/08/2021 1:39 PM
tradesafely congrats to those holding :)
23/08/2021 3:59 PM
cherry88 Do u think TP of RM2.40 make sense to you ?
23/08/2021 5:02 PM
tradesafely of course. personally i am holding at average RM1.3x, and don't really plan to take profit unless probably if it goes up too fast say RM3. otherwise, will just take the dividends and observe how things go next quarter.
23/08/2021 5:07 PM
Brutus @cherry88, of course it does make sense @ 2.40 based on their fundamentals. There will be a group who believe fundamentals are dead in BURSA.
I invested in BPPLAS for long term, maybe perpetually!
23/08/2021 5:54 PM
treasure_seeker still holding tight too.. at average of 93 sen, no strong reason to let go yet while dividend yield is still good.. & profits are growing
23/08/2021 6:42 PM
Lyo82 Keep growing, keep holding, simple as that.
24/08/2021 10:11 AM

Sardin Cherry88 thanks.
02/09/2021 5:23 PM
Lyo82 My humble opinion, BPPLAS is still broadly undervalued. No need look far, just compare to its closest peer SLP. No right or wrong to continue buy, hold or sell. It all depends on individual's investment strategy and risk appetite.
Happy investing!
03/09/2021 5:32 PM
CHONG Kong Hui Sold half at 2.17 earlier this week
Happy to buy back on weakness
05/09/2021 6:55 PM
wallstreetrookie Funny thing is, I checked most of the profile of the people who commented here. I think they all followed the advice of the same Facebook guru. Lol

Bgt 9963 Nice gap up...
08/09/2021 4:33 PM
wallstreetrookie Pump and dump. Packaging companies are showing peak earnings.
08/09/2021 7:58 PM
wallstreetrookie Don't ask me why because I missed out on this crazy bull run haha
08/09/2021 7:59 PM
Brutus Wow! Just WOW! Maybe after Ex-Date will continue to uptrend? Do really hope so.
Internal staff accumulating? Another excellent QR coming up with Special Dividends?
08/09/2021 8:06 PM
Thkent91 the management should have just issue bonus 1:2 and can continue to gives out 2 sen dividend per quarter. just saying
08/09/2021 9:34 PM
Brutus The last time they declare 1:2 Bonus Issue was way back 2008, more than 13 years ago! Maybe this round 1:1 since only 187M shares issued.
08/09/2021 9:41 PM
treasure_seeker as profits & revenues grow from quarter to quarter, price going up is expected, it is just either sooner or later.. when price starts to over value, then its time to let go
08/09/2021 10:21 PM
wallstreetrookie For long term investment, Scientex is definitely better. For capital growth, pick BP Plastic. I missed out on this company because I honestly thought they are not supposed to beat earnings last quarter. Again, I am not suspecting that the management is cooking the book but the peak growth for packaging materials usually lasts even shorter than glove companies. Glove companies peak growth is around 3 - 4 quarters whereas packaging materials lasts around 2 - 3 quarters.
08/09/2021 10:44 PM
wallstreetrookie Again, a disclaimer. I am bearish on this company because I missed out. Not because I wanna cheap shares.
08/09/2021 10:44 PM
MrRightMrLeft Yeah..should b given BI for next Q
09/09/2021 11:51 AM
Brutus WOW! The share price already passed SCGM! Now catching up to TGUAN.
09/09/2021 8:46 PM
Brutus Exciting times ahead for those who are still holding onto BPPLAS! In 2 more weeks expecting fat dividends.

12/09/2021 5:09 PM
Jarklp This company has been quite rewarding over the last few years, I like boring small cap companies with stable earnings.
12/09/2021 6:54 PM
Dakewlest RM3.00 soon. Hopefully.

20/09/2021 3:19 PM
Sardin I'm expecting EPS 6 sen per share at least, for Q3.
20/09/2021 4:28 PM
Sardin And expecting EPS to be able to maintain 24 sen annually next year. Reasonable?
20/09/2021 4:29 PM
ipohwhitecoffee 2.35 masuk longkang liao
21/09/2021 10:29 AM
Sardin No so difficult to go to 2.80 again. Just another equally good quarter report will do.
22/09/2021 11:42 AM
Samuelgold Bought some again at 2.40
23/09/2021 11:32 AM
Dakewlest Based from AR 2020, page 116, top 30 shareholders collectively own 78.87% of total shares. When more people buy bpplastics shares in the open market, this will easily push the price higher. Afterall, maybe this year profit is going to be higher than last year. Total PAT for QR1 and 2 is already 24.4 million. PAT for 2020 is 29.6 million.
