Haha i3lurker,
Previously I ask director how you are going to solve the 25% shareholder spread. She replied, “All options on the table and if I tell you now you will end up in jail for insider trading”.

Philip ( buy what you understand) Actually many of the institutions know exactly the value of Insas and thus avoiding it. Only those retail and new investors who just started reading on value investing and just recently finished intelligent investor, they think they know everything there is to know about investing and what to buy.

You think Insas never self promote to everybody?

But there are many important questions that Insas management cannot answer fully, and even sslee long term owner cannot find a reason to explain why.

Too bad, those who know how to buy stocks make money every year and made huge gains during covid-19. I know I did.

Those who held Insas over the last 3-5 years? Not very fortunate.

The kind of level 1 thinking spouted by retail investors never ceases to amaze me. Investing in stocks so easy meh?

stockraider Don be sohai loh...!!

Icap has bigger corporate governance issue mah...!!

Almost all icap monies park in fd in order to lock in TTB fees for next 5 to 10 years mah...!!

Btw...insas is positive...its PA give a yield of guarantee 3.8% pa much higher than fd rate of less than 2% pa and better than icap no return loh!

Insas PA will help the retirees & widowers to earn a decent fixed return mah....!

Posted by dumbMoney > Oct 11, 2020 7:02 PM | Report Abuse

@stockraider Insas has corporate governance issue. There is no actual need for fund raising through rights issue. It's a ploy for the controlling shareholders to accumulate warrants on the cheap, to replace the previous batch that expired out of the money. It is sitting on half a billion cash at the moment but not buying back shares at such deep discount.
11/10/2020 7:08 PM
Sslee Haha stockraider,
Mind telling us why and how Insas RI will raise it shares more than RM 1.00?
By the way the shareholders spread of min 25% I am talking about is TAGB.
11/10/2020 9:34 PM
Sslee Sorry correction min 25% public shareholding spread.

Sslee Good morning Philip,
“Actually many of the institutions know exactly the value of Insas and thus avoiding it. Only those retail and new investors who just started reading on value investing and just recently finished intelligent investor, they think they know everything there is to know about investing and what to buy.”

Just check Insas top 30 shareholders to see any Private Fund or all retail investors:

dumbMoney I sold all my iCap shares in Nov 2012 at $2.35 and switched to Eastspring Investment Small Cap Fund on a dollar averaging basis. The total periodic returns is around +227%. Go to

dumbMoney $stockraider: I also have Insas, but instead of doing rights issue, they should be buying back share s instead, as my share buy back examples apply equally to it, except that the cash portion is much lower, but the effect on NTA is much higher because of the deeper discount. This is what I am complaining about. The company don't need the extra cash. Why do low margin risky money lender business when it can buy back shares at 30 sen to the ringgit?
11/10/2020 11:38 PM

So is dumbMoney a new investors who just started reading on value investing and just recently finished intelligent investor, they think they know everything there is to know about investing and what to buy?
Please stop insulting people who you not even know.
12/10/2020 9:11 AM
stockraider What Governance issue leh ??

Think positively loh, insas inability to do share buy back, offer investors big opportunity to accumulate cheap insas with deep margin of safety loh..!!

Just follow General Raider to take advantage of this rare wonderful opportunity mah...!!

Posted by Sslee > Oct 12, 2020 7:32 AM | Report Abuse

Insas can't do SBB because Dato Sri Thong and PAC hold 32.96% and SBB will trigger the 33% conditional MGO.
The RI is for Dato' Sri Thong to collect the warrants as insurance Policy to safeguard against stockraider hostile take-over.

Posted by dumbMoney > Oct 12, 2020 9:43 AM | Report Abuse

@Sslee That's why I said company has corporate governance issue - possible conflict of interest.

Posted by dumbMoney > Oct 12, 2020 10:32 AM | Report Abuse

Even if the MGO is triggered or he wants to take the company private, at this price level, how many shareholders would want to throw their shares to him?

One Moment in Time- listen to this inspirational song

Whitney Houston & General Raider

Each day I live
I want to be
A day to give
The best of me
I'm only one
But not alone
My finest day
Is yet unknown
I broke my heart
Fought every gain
To taste the sweet
I face the pain
I rise and fall
Yet through it all
This much remains
I want one moment in time
When I'm more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in time
When I'm racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will feel
I will feel eternity
I've lived to be
The very best
I want it all
No time for less
I've laid the plans
Now lay the chance
Here in my hands
Give me one moment in time
When I'm more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in…

Sslee Stockraider,
leno is holding more than 4 million Insas shares not like you betting on 1 million W.

DeMusangking,
Next quarter Insas result will be very good and another 2 cent dividend coming. ALP only will keep asking money from you and no dividend for the next 6 years because he only want to build up reserve to reward himself with another 100+ million of LTIP free grant. You are the main dish BBQ Musang.

Insas: In giving we receive

Dear all,
To all Insas minority shareholders please reject Insas RI but approve the ESOS. The Insas Board and Management rightly deserve to be paid and rewarded fairly for job well done and so are minority shareholders

A brief Introduction about INSAS:
http://www.insas.net/
By balancing the Old brick-and-mortar economy with the New knowledge-and-technology based economy, Insas Berhad has successfully acquired expertise and experience in the businesses that we are in, where not only we have shown resilience and superiority, we continuously raise the platform for competition. Fuelled by a passion to triumph, commitment to excellence is what Insas Berhad holds dear to.

Insas berhad is a 58 year old company where the current controlling shareholder Dato’ Sri Thong took over a near bankrupt company with negative shareholder fund in 1993 and injected stockbroker firm into it. Thro’ prudent and conservative investment INSAS survived through 1997 Asian financial crisis with over hundred million of impairment losses, 2000 dotcom bubble, 2008 Lehman Brothers subprime crisis and now Covid-19 pandemic.

Insas had growth slowly but surely and along the way Insas has made some bad and good investments. The bad investments did not kill Insas, the good investments add into Insas bottom line and especially investment in Inari had helped Insas to grow their others business and net worth to RM 1,750,354,000.

Sslee Haha i3 lurker,
The PE 8 Lctitan already give me 6 figure book gain.
19/10/2020 5:13 PM
Sslee And I need you to goreng Insas up to 90 cents for another 6 figure book gain.
19/10/2020 5:16 PM
Sslee Haha i3lurker,
Book gain or book profit: profit that has been made but that has not yet been taken, for example when shares have risen in value since they were bought but have not yet been sold.

Sslee Good morning Roger123,
I listen to you and sold all Prestar shares. I bought back 50,000 units at cost of RM 24,650, thanks for asking.
I oppose RI for the simple reason that Insas is cash rich and do not really need any cash call. I will tell the Board during AGM, I support the ESOS and please tell us what Insas is going to do with the cash hoard.

Mind telling me why you support RI but not ESOS?

Sslee Dear all,
“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results"- Albert Einstein

Everyone know what happen to INSAS-WB 2015/2020 and everyone know you are paying RM 1.00 for a RM3.00+ inside the INSAS locked Bank Vault and the only key to the vault is with Dato Sri Thong. INSAS value can only be unlocked if only you have more shares than Dato’ Sri Thong or a revolt from his lieutenant.

Dato Sri Thong is interest to buy from you your INSAS-WC 2021/2026 cheaply. If INSAS-WB fail to unlock the value what make you think INSAS-WC will unlock the value for you?

Let’s do something different this time round and support ESOS (internal revolt) to unlock the value of INSAS
