Morewin US News update
Once the hackers had access to a video game
company, according to the Justice Department, they would modify its databases to generate certain items or virtual currency for themselves and then sell it through a marketplace called SEA Gamer Mall, a company based in Malaysia.

Its CEO, Wong Ong Hua, and its chief product officer, Ling Yang Ching, are accused of working with the Chinese hackers to sell the virtual items on their platform. Malaysian police arrested the two on Monday, and the US government is seeking extradition.

Morewin The details
In his press conference on the indictment, US deputy Attorney general Jeffrey Rosen said Chinese authorities had “chosen” to not enforce the law against the alleged hackers.

“The Chinese government has made a deliberate choice to allow its citizens to commit computer intrusions and attacks around the world because these actors will also help the People’s Republic of China,” he said.

As for the 23 charges Wong and Ling face, the DOJ lists them as follows:

One count of racketeering conspiracy, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison;

One count of racketeering, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison;

Three counts of intentional damage to a protected computer, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison;

Five counts of unauthorised access to a protected computer, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison;

Five counts of furthering fraud by unauthorised access to a protected computer, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison;

Two counts of access device fraud, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison;

Two counts of identity theft, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison;

One count of aggravated identity theft, which carries a mandatory sentence of two years in prison;

Three counts of money laundering, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

“The indictment also alleges false registration of domain names, which would increase the maximum sentence of imprisonment for money laundering to 27 years; the maximum sentence of imprisonment for unlawful access to a protected computer to 10 years instead of five years; the maximum sentence of imprisonment for intentional damage to a protected computer to 17 years instead of 10 years; and the mandatory sentence of imprisonment for aggravated identity theft to four years instead of two years,” it said.

kahhoeng Instead of seeing VT goreng BCorp into a soaring share price, would rather VT (1) stop using BCorp to buy high sell low his privately owned companies with "independent" directors really independent acting in the best interests of minorities (2) further streamlining BCorp into an easier to understand companies, structure-wise and financial reporting-wise (3) start treating minorities fairly by declaring dividends including all listed subsidiaries. These will ensure a sustainable BCorp that can provide long term benefits to all shareholders, majority and minority included.

SEA Gamer Mall (www.seagm.com) is a platform in the global online gaming space that enables gamers to purchase digital goods. SEA Gamer Mall retails and distributes digital game time codes, console reload codes, game activation keys for both popular local and international games. It counts Berjaya Corp Bhd founder Tan Sri Vincent Tan as one of its private investors via Cyberventures Sdn Bhd since 2012.
Wong said he formed SEA Gamer Mall after a friend in China asked for his help to sell to the Southeast Asian market.
I built the website and I do the customer service myself. Now we have a website development team, many staff and departments to handle (the operations).”
He said the business of Sea Gamer Mall meets his three criteria of obtaining immediate payment (cash), with little or no after-sales services and is one business that not many people can do.
