Sslee Know what below mean for AA? And can AA decouple the associate as suggested by Maybank IB?

16. Investments in associates
As at 30/9/2021: RM million
As at 31/12/2020: RM million
Cost: Investment 1,087.9 : 1,087.9
Share of results and reserves (576.5) : (545.9)
Impairment loss (59.2) : (59.2)
452.2: 482.8

MFRS128 provides that entities discontinue recognising their share of further losses when its share of the losses equals to or exceeds its interest in the associate. Accordingly, the Group has only recognised losses to the extent of its interest in these associates. The unrecognised losses at the reporting date amounted to RM1,174.1 million.

i3lurker Ass Asia Badwill has no value when more than 1,000,000 Ass Asia customers feel badwill against Ass Asia.
This is called Badwill, goodwill no longer exists

Just this Christmas, someone told me he flew to balik kampung this Christmas using MA coz MA will refund tickets.
Ass Asia will NOT refund tickets.
This is the new Ass Asia Badwill SOP in people's minds
21/01/2022 8:35 AM
EVO118 Exactly you have to look after your customers. First thing they teach you in sales is the customer is always right. You can't build a business if you keep loosing your customers! Short term gain of using customers money by not refunding is a long term lost of customers who will never return.

Sslee AirAsia X Bhd (AAX) along with AAX Leasing Two Ltd has withdrawm their application to challenge the registration of a UK court judgement by its lessor BOC Aviation Ltd for the airlines to pay US$23.37 million (RM96.84 million). It is understood AAX and AAX Leasing had agreed to pay RM5,000 costs to BOC Aviation. Initially a hearing date was fixed for last October, but that did not proceed.

So not all AAX creditors are treated equal.

i3lurker In European Union, not refunding is a crime and Directors will be jailed.

just that Malaysia is a very pariah country
where people live inside a longkang

with pariah laws
and all citizens of Malaysia have pariah rights

eating pariah food
getting pariah floods

pariah discussions on whisky name
21/01/2022 12:46 PM

i3lurker Ass Asia investment in associates RM1 Billion
Losses by Associates not recognized Rm1 Billion

Total RM2 Billion

which fool will pay RM2 Billion for Badwill aka Losswill aka illwill ?

for comparison of what you can do with money

besides the obvious 2,000,000,000 packets of RM1 nasi lemak

Vista Tower 63 Storey 550,000 sg ft nett is only worth RM455 million

To a person with money say RM2 Billion he will always compare.
What else he can do with the money?
What else can he buy?

Sslee Stony should do what Maybank IB suggest :
Maybank IB Research’s view, the PN17 status is salvageable with six ways that AirAsia Group can substantially narrow its negative shareholders’ equity:

Waiver of deferred aircraft leases (RM2.5 bil);
Listing of digital assets currently valued at US$1.2 bil (RM5.2 bil);
Reversal of impairment of right-of-use assets (RM552 mil);
Issuance of RCUIDS (RM974 mil) and warrants (RM650 mil);
Deconsolidate Indonesia AirAsia (IAA) and Philippines AirAsia (PAA) accounts; and
Sale of assets (eg maintenance, repairs and operations division).

Or is Maybabk IB hint Stony to deconsolidate himself with AA by selling all his AA holding?
