Overweight oil call by AmInvest.
Oil asset for sale in Malaysia is by Exxon and Petrofac
20/09/2020 10:33 AM
Smarttrade According to the oil market today. you can buy a very good high level producing asset in Malaysia or elsewhere for RM2billion (US$500M) !! taking the example from Anasuria or Sabah, the Oil reserve price (underground) was about US$0.50c per barrel.

So I guess if Hibiscus is spending half of that money to buy 3 New fields, the combined Oil 2P reserve should be about US$250,000,000/0.5= 500Milion Barrels at least, so if you want to produce these Oil let say in 40 Years, your daily production of these 3 assets should be at least 500,000,000 / (40x365x0.9) = 38,000 barrels a day !! if this is true, Hibiscus is not only doubling his daily production, he is multiplying it by 4x this is comparing to current average daily production is about 9500 barrels. It is important to know how much oil reserve Hibiscus is going to buy and what is the expected oil reserve price he is paying for in order to confirm the above. If anyone know more details on Exxon or Petrofac high value producing assets that are sale please share.
20/09/2020 1:08 PM
Smarttrade if my assumption are correct, Hibiscus mother share should touch at least RM2 with warrant WC at RM0.6 as minimum as long as the Brent oil price is above US$45.

lhakim Petrofac always looking for someone to take over his asset and have letgo 1-2 platform in last 3 years. Meanwhile Exxon West Malaysia asset contract will be end by next year and they already inform Petronas the did not want to continue the contract. Thus Petronas will look for another operator to take over the field. Bear in mind all field belong to Petronas. Exxon, Petrofac is only an operator. For past 5 years Exxon has handover few small field to Petronas & was handover by Petronas to few company such as EPOMS & Vestigo. It will be interesting if Exxon, Petrofac & Repsol PM3 field will be take over by Hibiscus because they literally did not need to pay anything for a field that has became 'free agent'. Probably the only money they need to spend is on rehabilitating the platform for major maintainance & invest some money to drill a new well to enhance oil production.

linheng https://oilprice.com/Energy/Crude-Oil/The-Worlds-Most-Expensive-Crudes-Get-Expensive-Again.html
Historically, one would seek for the world’s most expensive crudes in Malaysia. There, grades like Tapis, Kimanis and Kikeh would be generally at least 4-5 USD per barrel above Brent, largely due to their superior refining characteristics. In fact, a little less than 3 years ago I’ve written an article here stating that Tapis was the most expensive crude globally due to its extremely low Sulphur content and the specificities of the Southeast Asian crude market. Today Malaysian differentials have given away the garland of superiority to Australia’s heavy sweet crudes, such as Vincent or Van Gogh – oddly enough, premia as high as +31 USD per barrel to Dated Brent are a direct consequence not of the crudes’ refining value but rather their blending utility.

twynstar For 4Q20, OPEX of North Sabah is USD 10.27 and Anasuria is USD 14.29. For Unit Production Cost (UPC) , average UPC for North Sabah = USD 15, average UPC for Anasuria = USD 18.50.

The North Sabah segment recorded revenue and gross profit of RM36.7 million and RM16.0 million respectively. Gross profit margin achieved 43.6% with average realised oil price of USD31.79 per bbl. Anasuria has no offtake of oil for 4Q20. For FY2021, Hibiscus plans to sell 8 offtakes from North Sabah, and 4 offtakes from Anasuria.

Base on
1)North Sabah able to achieve gross profit margin of 43.6% with average realised oil price of USD31.79 per bbl,
2) North Sabah crude oil is very good quality and it can be sold USD 4 to 5 more expensive than Brent market price,
3)In April 2020, Hibiscus signed a deed of supply and collaboration with Trafigura. Hibiscus has locked in future sales of 750,000 bbls at an average price of USD 35/bbl at North Sabah.

I think it is safe to say that Hibiscus will make profit if Brent price more than USD 35.

For risk of future impairment loss, Hibiscus has 4 important assets which are North Sabah, Anasuria, Marigold and Australia. North Sabah and Anasuria still can make profit with low Brent price. So less likely impairment loss. In October 2018, Hibiscus bought 50% of Marigold with USD 37.5 million. Marigold is a very good value oil field and still under development phase. Hibiscus might spend extra USD 100 - 150 million by 2022 to develop Marigold. Marigold will produce first oil by 2023.

Australia assets wont produce profit with current low Brent price. So Hibiscus wrote off almost RM 200 million impairment loss for Australia assets. In “ corporate insight” presentation organized by CGS CIMB, Dr Kenneth mentioned that there will be no future impairment loss after Australia

AllYouCanBuy Doesn't matter the drop, keep collecting if you have extra money and holding power. Oil counters will have their time in 2022. What you see in glove counters in 2020 will be what happens to O & G counters in 2022.

You just have to wait for your turn.
25/09/2020 8:13 AM
AllYouCanBuy Oil price will be up, just a matter of time. Otherwise the global economy will be doomed and whatever counters you invest in will see losses.
If you are skeptical about it, waste no time procrastinating and move on to other counters.

See you at RM1.50 in 2022. RM1.50 is a predictable practical price minus the goreng momentum. Figure it out yourself and enjoy investing!
25/09/2020 8:21 AM
AllYouCanBuy In 2023, chances are Hibi will visit RM2. 50.

2.4 million acres with a 38 years exploration and production term, its not a bad prospect at all.. Hibi price will fly, if they are able to buy the asset from Exxon.
25/09/2020 5:26 PM
linheng (Sept 25): Exxon Mobil Corp has narrowed the list of bidders for its oil-producing offshore assets in Malaysia that could potentially raise US$2 billion to US$3 billion in a sale, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

UK-listed EnQuest Plc and Kuala Lumpur-traded Hibiscus Petroleum Bhd are among those that have been chosen to submit binding bids for the assets, the people said. Other companies have also expressed interest, said the people, who asked not to be identified as the discussions are private.
25/09/2020 6:45 PM
linheng Luckily did the switch from Velesto to Hibiscus. Don't have to worry about next quarter results.Velesto depends on rigs contract renewal that is also depending on oil price. This counter depend on oil price only.
