It came as a shock to many when it was reported that legendary actor Bruce Willis was retiring, due to a condition known as aphasia, a disorder which affects a person's ability to communicate and to use language. This can be hard for people to imagine, especially when it's such a vital part of our daily lives. So here to shed more light on what aphasia is in conjunction with Better Hearing and Speech Month this May, are Cecilia Santiago, a speech-language therapist from the Malaysian Association of Speech-Language and Hearing, and Jess, who was recently diagnosed with aphasia.
