Ireka’s external auditors resign due to lack of resources to perform auditing services

KUALA LUMPUR (April 25): Ireka Corp Bhd said it received a written notice from Messrs Crowe Malaysia PLT indicating their intention to resign as the external auditors of the company.

In a filing with the bourse, Ireka said the matter was tabled at a special audit committee meeting on Monday (April 25), during which a board resolution was circulated, with the board subsequently accepting the resignation as recommended by the audit committee.

“Messrs Crowe were reappointed at the last annual general meeting (AGM) of the company held on Sept 28, 2021 to hold office as the company’s external auditors until the conclusion of the forthcoming AGM.

“Messrs Crowe explained that the resignation was due to Messrs Crowe’s lack of sufficient resources to perform their auditing services throughout their clientele,” said the construction, real estate and networking system company.

Save for the auditors’ resignation, the company said its board is not aware of any matters that need to be brought to the attention of the shareholders of the company.

“The company will immediately appoint another audit firm as the new external auditors of the company.

“Further announcements will be made by the company in due course, once the nomination of new external auditors is finalised by the company,” said the company.

Ireka shares fell two sen or 4% to close at 48 sen on Monday, giving it a market capitalisation of RM109.34 million.
