KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 1): Former Bursa Malaysia Bhd chairman Datuk Shireen Ann Zaharah Muhiudeen has been appointed as an independent director of Media Prima Bhd.

Shireen, 59, has served on the boards of various public listed companies, which include a port as well as a local bank. She helmed the local bourse from March 2019 to April 2020.

She has also served on a foreign bank board, according to Media Prima in its Bursa Malaysia filing.

"She was appointed as a director of Felda on July 26, 2018. Following her appointment, she was then appointed as chairman of Felda's Investment Committee and chairman of Felda's Risk and Governance Committee until July 25, 2022," it said.

Shireen also served on the Economic Action Council from February 2019 to March 2020.

Shares in Media Prima closed half sen or 1.11% higher at 45.5 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM504.69 million.
