KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 13): AWC Bhd has bagged a RM62.23 million job to provide five years of clinic support services to the Ministry of Health (MOH) in Perak.
The contract, commencing on Oct 1, covers 19 district clinics, said the group, which is principally involved in the provision of facilities management systems, waste management solutions and industrial engineering services.
The new contract broadens the group’s healthcare support services’ footprint geographically into the northern part of Peninsular Malaysia, said AWC in a statement.
It added that AWC’s presence in the healthcare support services sector has grown significantly, with ongoing jobs at Hospital Shah Alam, National Cancer Institute, Hospital Orang Asli and National Institute of Health.
With this latest award, AWC group chief executive officer and president Datuk Ahamd Kabeer said year-to-date contract wins have surpassed RM330 million.
“That is an impressive achievement which brings our current outstanding orderbook to above RM800 million. This growing portfolio is a testament to AWC’s competency and capability in maintaining critical healthcare assets,” he said.
Shares of AWC gained one sen or 2.3% to close at 44 sen on Tuesday (Sept 13), giving it a market capitalisation of RM141.42 million.
