KUALA LUMPUR (April 13): Human Resources Minister V Sivakumar has confirmed that an officer from his ministry has been arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
The minister said that he “cannot provide any comment on the issue” while the investigation is under process and pledged to give his full cooperation on the matter.
“I hope the media does not make any assumptions or speculations that may affect any party until the investigation is completed,” Sivakumar said in a statement on Thursday (April 13).
News broke earlier that the graftbuster had raided the ministry and detained a senior officer, along with a foreign worker recruitment agent.
Both arrests were in relation to graft allegations involving the recruitment of foreign workers.
