PUTRAJAYA (April 17): Human Resources Minister V Sivakumar on Monday (April 17) denied reports that his office and home were raided by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on Sunday.

"Nothing, there was nothing," he said when asked about media reports saying that the MACC had raided his office and residence to complete an investigation into allegations of him receiving money worth millions of ringgit through middlemen as a guarantee to continue government contracts.

Sivakumar, who was met by reporters after the soft launch of the National Training Week (NTW) 2023 here Monday, said he was at the MACC headquarters Sunday to have his statement recorded.

"I was not arrested. I was there to give my statement and I told them that I would cooperate,” he said.

Asked if the MACC would be calling him again, Sivakumar said: “No”.

Sivakumar said he and the human resources ministry would give MACC their full cooperation.

“Investigations are ongoing and if there is anything we will give our full cooperation, that's all," he said.

Sivakumar was in the limelight recently after his officers were arrested believed to be over foreign worker recruitment contracts.
