BANGI (April 18): Low-cost airline MYAirline Sdn Bhd is optimistic that it will start servicing international routes in June this year.
The targeted international destinations are around the Southeast Asia region, namely Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand.
Chief executive officer Rayner Teo said tickets for MyAirline’s new international routes are expected to be on sale next month.
“Hopefully, we can get [to] either commence ticket bookings by end of this month or early next month.
“We have enough time to make sure [that] all the aircraft are ready to fly,” Teo told reporters after a breaking-of-fast event at the Rumah Bakti Nur Ain orphanage here on Tuesday (April 18).
He also said that the airline plans to have at least 20 aircraft in operation by the end of this year.
“At the moment, we have six operational aircraft,” he said.
The airline had recently signed a deal for 17 Airbus A320-200 aircraft on a lease basis, to meet the target of 20 narrow-body aircraft by the end of 2023.
