TASEK GELUGOR (May 18): Penang Regional Development Authority (Perda), via its subsidiary Perda Ventures Incorporated Sdn Bhd (PVISB), has launched two mixed development projects with a gross development value (GDV) of almost RM1 billion.
Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Rubiah Wang said the first project in Taman Ara Suria is on 16.84 hectares of land and the second project is on 70 hectares of land in Taman Ara Damai.
She said the two projects will offer residential units with prices starting from RM42,000 to RM350,000, depending on the type of house.
“I was informed that the GDV of both these projects that amount to almost RM1 billion is the effort of Perda with PVISB to offer affordable homes to the people,” she said when launching both of the projects on Thursday.
She added that Taman Ara Suria is a mixed-development project comprising one block of 15 floors of low-cost flats with 174 residential units, 386 units of single-storey terrace houses, and 51 units of double-storey shop offices.
Taman Ara Damai includes 1,450 single-storey terrace units, 74 units of single-storey double-detached homes, 468 units of double-storey low-cost townhouses, and 80 units of double-storey shop offices.
“Taman Ara Suria is expected to be completed at the end of 2024 while Taman Ara Damai will be completed by 2025,” she said.
Rubiah also informed that Perda has completed 10,048 units of mixed housing development from the 24 projects and four projects implemented jointly, which included 5,395 units low-cost homes.
