KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 24): Engineering services provider AWC Bhd (KL:AWC) has bagged a RM9.4 million contract from the Melaka Public Works Department (JKRM) to provide facilities management and maintenance service for the immigration, custom, quarantine and security complex in Sungai Melaka.

In a statement on Thursday, AWC said its wholly-owned subsidiary Ambang Wira Facilities Sdn Bhd has received a letter of acceptance (LOA) from JKRM for the proposed job. The contract is for 60 months, commencing from Nov 1, 2024 to Oct 31, 2029.

"This new contract adds positively to our order book replenishment which stands at above RM700 million while our tender-book remains healthy, at above RM1 billion across all business divisions," said AWC group chief executive officer and president Datuk Ahmad Kabeer Mohamed Nagoor.

“We are delighted to secure another facilities management contract, this time from JKRM. This marks the second win for our facilities division in just a week, reinforcing our confidence in the myriad of opportunities within the facilities management space. Public infrastructure and government buildings require ongoing maintenance and must be kept to the highest standards, and we are proud to be able to provide this service," he added.

AWC on Monday bagged a RM30.5 million contract from KCJ Engineering Sdn Bhd to provide housekeeping services at Bangunan JB Sentral, Johor Bahru.

AWC's shares closed up 0.5 sen or 0.56% to 90 sen on Thursday, giving it a market capitalisation of RM303.96 million. The stock has risen 42.9% so far this year.
