KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 4): Builder Tuju Setia Bhd (KL:TJSETIA) has secured a construction contract worth RM411 million to build serviced apartments and landed residential units in Kelana Jaya for the Sunway Serene 2 development project.

The job was awarded to Tuju Setia’s wholly -owned Pembinaan Tuju Setia Sdn (PTS) by Sunway Serene Sdn Bhd, a wholly -owned unit of Sunway Bhd (KL:SUNWAY), the company said in a filing on Monday.

The contract involves two blocks of 45-storey serviced apartments with nine levels of podium carparks and two levels of facilities, while the landed properties comprise two rows of two-storey super link residential units and a row of three-storey super link residential units.

With Monday's announcement, Tuju Setia has secured four contracts this year totalling RM1.19 billion. The previous contracts it announced were the Alora Residences and Hype Residences in Subang Jaya, and the new Block C of Gleneagles Hospital in Kuala Lumpur.

The latest job also marks the third contract from Sunway for the group, who is also undertaking the construction of Sunway Hill Residences in Kota Damansara and Jernih Residence in Kajang, which is a joint venture project between Sunway and MKH Bhd.

“This third project under the Sunway brand not only demonstrates their confidence in our capabilities in delivering quality work, but also reinforces our reputation as a builder of choice for prominent property developers,” Tuju Setia managing director Wee Eng Kong said in a statement.

Works on the latest contract are expected to be completed within 40 months once it begins at a date to be determined.

Shares of Tuju Setia finished unchanged at 23.5 sen on Monday, valuing the group at RM72.9 million.
