KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 15): Plantation giant SD Guthrie Bhd (KL:SDG), previously known as Sime Darby Plantation, has announced the appointment of Tan Seri Datuk Seri Mohd Zuki Ali as its non-independent and non-executive director.
Mohd Zuki, who has been the chairman of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) since September 2024, brings over three decades of experience in government service, according to SD Guthrie’s filing on Wednesday.
“With over 30 years in government service, he brings expertise in policy setting, public administration, and intergovernmental institutions,” SD Guthrie said.
Mohd Zuki also previously served as Malaysia’s 15th chief secretary to the government from 2020 to 2024, and was the secretary general of the Ministry of Defence in 2019.
Mohd Zuki was also recently appointed as non-independent and non-executive chairman of Pestech International Bhd (KL:PESTECH) in December 2024. Pestech is now a subsidiary of Dhaya Maju Infrastructure (Asia) Sdn Bhd.
At midday market break on Wednesday, shares in SD Guthrie were three sen or 0.63% higher at RM4.78, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM33.01 billion.
