Trading Class : Cohort 1
Elementary of Technical Analysis : Module one : Price-Volume, MA and RSI.
I am tired as I just came back from a class with my 6 novice-traders. Well, I m only showing some simple terms about MA and RSI. No stock picking and such.
It is also nice to go teh-tarik with some of them, sharing experiences. Well, it is stock-talk kopi-tiam style. Haha.
Question : Can traders be trained?
7.15 am : DOW up 60 points ... KLCI will also rebound?
10.25 am : Tonight I do still have a trading-class for my cohort 2 and anyone interested, you could still join. Contact me ASAP.
Next Saturday's class is booked too. So, someone asked if I could have another class on next Friday for novices as their friends could be interested too ... hmm ... If I do that, I will not have any break for two months!! I will consider ...
4.20 pm : Last night, one of my turtle( I have 7 of them, remember?), EK joined the class. I did not charge him as I invited him to 'judge' my teaching!! While having lunch with him just now, he mentioned one important point - I need to go slow with those NOVICES. For exmples, the terms could be VERY new to some. I pondered for a while ... my purpose of the class is to share with these novices some trading terms and also how we see/use these indicators. In that aspect, I think I did not do well ...
Hence, as I m a believer in being practical .. I should keep it simple and NOT to teach too much. LESS is MORE. For that, I shall have a practical class for them wih hands-on kinda sharing this time. If you are new to teachnical or market, a term MA20-day could be alien to you, right? And to teach bullish or bearish MA crossover is too much for novices to digest!! Yeah ... I am in education line for years. I m going to learn to teach well in TA and help the investors/traders(novices) about trading. Yes, making it affordable is VERY important. Making the class small is also VERY important so that I could monitor and guide personally what they may not understand. We all have our own learning abilities. Some is slower, some is a fast learner. But, I think the MOTIVATION to learn must be there. And the RIGHT mentality to learn well too. We are here to learn and apply what we are learning ... afterall, too theoritical would not help us, anyway.
Who cares how they calculate the MA or RSI? I am more interested to know how I could change the parameters to trade and how do these indicators help us in our decisions during trading.
It takes TIME and EFFORT. Believe me, lots of time and effort. And if u r attending some courses, it takes lots of money too. Will you pay for a course before entering markets or after you get burnt in markets? Seriously, majority of those in chart-nexus(those aunties-uncles) are there because they have lost lots of money in markets AND also due to good market strategies by CNX. So, all there are hoping is to listen to some TIPS from the trainer(s). You dont think they sacrifice thousands of dollars and their Saturdays to LEARN technical charts, do you? Kidding me ...
Well ... with that said, I hope I could teach well ... and provide a cheap(cheap is not good? haha) alternative for novices to learn trading. It takes time ... please do not expect instant results. Being REALISTIC and if you are not losing money(managing your risk well), you could join the elite 10-20% of those profitting from markets.
Buying into a counters like DVM or Hexagon will not make a person a good trader. That is not trading as technical charts or indicators could not be used for such cases. Going into public forums and listening to tips will not make you a good trader, anyway. Think again ...
