This is a good educational clip to understand what "Debt Ceiling" is all about. Well, if you are just buying stocks in KLSE and not interested with such issues, it is OK.

As for me, I find these things as NEW and interesting. So, I spent hours reading about what it means by 'debt ceiling', 'US default' or how a country could go bankrupt.

How about Malaysia? Are we having huge deficits in our budget? What is the consequences of our Malaysia governement spending money(ours, ok?) to build this and that ... where do they get the money from?

Governement bonds ... many Malaysians invested in it. It is Gov's debt ... long term debt. Now, Gov needs to pay the bond-holders some interests(which is higher than FD, that is why many rushing for these Gov's bond). Where will they get more money to pay their debts + interests? I have not even mentioned about corruption which could NOT be written(shhh ... we are BERSIH) and not quantifiable.

Again ... I have the quest for knowledge. I have tonnes of WHY-WHY and I am still trying to seek for answers. So, many of times I do read stuff which not related to KLSE. It is just general knowledge about Economics and Financial which alien to me.







The above explaination is easy to understand. Yes, time to change the president, in our case ... our BN GOvernments. Say no to corruption? Err ... no la, Malaysia is a corruption-free country. Ask ANYone staying in Malaysia, including the millions of immigrants, legal or not.
