I have an interesting 5-hour market kopi-tiam talk with two of my cohort-1 turtles. Yes, we met to talk and talk ... and I m trying to gather what they need to learn or know. It seems that I talked more than them Haha...
HSI up 300+, KLCI planted 10 points up.
10.50 pm : Just back from some shopping with family. And I am surprised that GOLD dropping and dropping. Good. DOW up 140+ points, so we shall see some bull tmr. Yeah ... buy buy buy?
Gold : Went down below 1800, GLD dropping almost 4% now. SLV going below 40. OK.
Back to my points ... what is TA to novices? The world of markets are TOO huge for them to comprehend. It is understandable. That is why I have mentioned that it will take TIME ... and more TIME to even understand simple demand-supply and fear-greed in play in markets. By understanding that, we have slight edge. Then, how we in-coperate TA into out trades becoming more important than all those terms, those complex formula and complicate systems we need to memorise? WHAT?? Memorise?? Haha ... no la, we just need to use it frequently until we are FAMILIAR with the term used(to communicate) and also practise till we could know what we are doing!! Initially, we have doubts, of coz. It is taking me 2 years plus into TA now and I am still in basic level. Most of those in KLSE?? Hmm ... put it bluntly, they DONT KNOW what stocks are, what the companies business are or related, they dont look at charts(Haha .. confession from my aunty-turtle. Thanks for being frank) ... they call remiser the next tips they got from their 'reliable' friends!! Amazing?
Learning fundamentals(very basic, at least) and learning technical(very basic, at least) NEVER occur in their mind!! AMAZING!! Many younger ones, newbies and novices REALLY thought that going into markets means they could earn extra pockets money!! Wow ... welcome to the real world. I am a bad teacher as I pinch on your wounds, splash cold-water and making you realise the PAIN even before you dare to touch stock markets!! Yes, I am doing the OPPOSITE of what most will tell you ... stock-market is a place to profit hugely or becoming millionaire? Huh?? Really?
Yes, one could profit from market. That I agreed. But, I am speaking to the majority 70-80% of those IGNORANTs in markets ... to understand how a stock work, I believe I need 10-15 years!! As I m in my 4th year, I still feel I am such a novice(in FA and TA). Then, I asked my novice turtles "If your cikgu(me) is a novice, do you think many others could profit from markets?" Hmm ... think about it, please.
So, what a novice should learn in technical analysis and when we do not want to do what a stupid person like me do? That is why I m teaching those novices, cutting their learning curve shorter!! Yes, helping some to LEARN ... and dont worry, those who dont see the point of learning will drop or wont even bother to look for me, right? GOOD. I want to trim down, filter to teach only those really want to learn. I am a believer that you CANNOT teach those high-ego(especially males) ignorant and who know-everything. Haha ...
To begin with, I need to teach these novices TERMS ... yes, what is MA, RSI, Stoc, MACD, Support and Resistance and such. Learning the terminology itself might take a novice months!! Ok ok ... it took me months, I am a slow learner, ya.
So, my basic 4 modules will be teaching them TERMS. Damn it ... I sounded like a con-man again. You mean I need to pay money to learn terms?? Hey, I can google and READ what RSI is, ok? Yeah, boss ... I knew that, of coz. I am not saying you dont know what RSI is. SO what you know the formula or even understood the under-lying meaning to the RSI. You could grab any good TA book, they should explain how to apply RSI, right? Then ... what the heck I need to teach u for?
Look novices/newbies, reading and listening is different from DOING. Practising the actual trading is differeent from reading itself. Those who never trade will NOT understand. If things are so simple, why thousands of them paying thousands of ringgits to attend one course after another. DO NOT blame the system, blame your wrong attitude. I dont have an indicator to check on a person if he/she is suitable from trading. But, if u speak to a novice ... you will know if he is experience or not in markets. If he is just another kopi-tiam markets punters or just a mere blogger? Haha ...
Talk is cheap ... I could keep talking B-S ... and it is 'subjective'. It is up to how your brain preceive things. Majority are skeptical, many are negative-thinkers or self-denial(no patient will tell you he is sick, ok?). We cant help these people. What we could do is only advise ... change that mindset, will ya? Change some of your habits? How is that?
