US stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Utilities and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher. At the close in NYSE, the DJIA rose 0.56% to hit a new 1-month high, while the S&P 500 index climbed 0.74%, and the NASDAQ Composite index added 0.71%. Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the NYSE by 1,872 to 1314 and 137 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2,259 rose and 1,341 declined, while 177 ended unchanged.
