The FBM KLCI (-0.9%) settled below the 1,600 psychological level after languishing in the negative territory for almost the entire trading session as profit taking activities accelerated especially in MAYBANK (-11.0 sen), AXIATA (-14.0 sen) and TOPGLOV (-13.0 sen). Market breadth remained negative as the losers overruled the gainers by 753-to-349 stocks. The broader market finished mostly in red, led by the telecommunications & media sector (-2.1%) with AXIATA (-14.0 sen), MAXIS (-5.0 sen), and DIGI (-5.0 sen) taking the biggest hit.
