BERLIN: Wireless earbuds like Apple's AirPods have become a daily companion for many people. But what do you do if one of your AirPods gets lost?
Don't worry, the small in-ear headphones can be bought individually in the Apple Store, from authorised dealers or online marketplaces like eBay.
The price for a single AirPod is usually between half and two thirds of the price of a new pair, which is between €149/US$129 (2nd generation, around RM560) and €279/US$249 (Pro, RM1,099).
If you need to replace one of your AirPods, Apple recommends unpairing your iPhone, iPad or iPod from the AirPods and then pairing them again. To do this, go into Settings and select Bluetooth. Your AirPods should be listed under "My Devices.”
Tap the info box (the blue circle with a small "i") next to your AirPods, select "forget this device," and confirm your decision. Then place your new AirPod together with the old one in the charging case with the lid open.
Next, press and hold the setup button on the back of the charging case for 15 seconds until the status light turns white - that resets the case and the AirPods.
Then, leaving the lid of the charging case open and with both AirPods inside, place it next to your iPhone or other device. As soon as your AirPods are recognised, a setup animation will appear on the screen. Select "Connect" and then "Done" to complete the connection process.
By the way, you can also replace a charging case. A new one from Apple costs around €100/US$100 , depending on the model.
