PHNOM PENH : Cambodian border authorities and their Thai counterparts on Thrusday (Jan 27) met for talks on cooperation to combat cross-border crimes and to strengthen their relations.

The meeting took place in Phnom Proek commune's Tuol Khpos village of Battambang province's Phnom Proek district.

“The Thai side requested that Cambodia prevent citizens from illegal goldmining and logging in Thailand, while we requested that they inform us when arresting Cambodian nationals who illegally cross the border to Thailand,” said the National Police on Jan 27.

Both sides agreed on the agendas and requests and were committed to maintaining good relations and cooperation.

Separately, more than 200 Cambodian migrant workers were sent back from Thailand through Battambang province on Jan 27, according to the National Police.
