Cases dipping as Thailand records 6,094 Covid-19 cases and 51 deaths on Sunday (May 15)

BANGKOK, May 15 : Thailand's Public Health Ministry reported on Sunday (May 15) that in the past 24 hours there are 6,094 new patients who tested positive for Covid-19, two of whom have arrived in Thailand from abroad.

Death toll increased by 51, while 8,601 patients were cured and allowed to leave hospitals.

Cumulative cases in the country since January 1, 2022 are at 2,150,411.

The country’s total caseload from Covid-19 stands at 4,373,846 - 4,273,599 of whom have recovered, 70,775 are still in hospitals and 29,472 have died.

Separately, another 7,344 people were given their first Covid-19 shot in the last 24 hours, 22,232 their second shot and 40,972 a booster, bringing the total number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered nationwide to 135,590,107.

According to Worldometer, confirmed cases globally had risen to 520.91 million on Sunday, 475.34 million of whom have recovered, 39.28 million are active cases (39,096 in severe condition) and 6.28 million have died.

Thailand ranks 24th in the global list of most cases, which is topped by the US with 84.20 million, followed by India with 43.12 million, Brazil with 30.68 million, France with 29.16 million and Germany with 25.77 million.
