HANOI : Vietnam's Covid-19 tally rose to 10,699,965 on Tuesday (May 17), as 1,785 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours in 48 localities.

Hanoi still had the highest number of infections, with 419, followed by Vĩnh Phúc (119).

The country also recorded four more deaths related to Covid-19, meaning the death toll has now reached 43,071, about 0.4 per cent of infections.

There are 206 Covid patients nationwide currently receiving oxygen support, including 11 on invasive ventilation and two on life support.

5,094 patients fully recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 9,364,857 since the pandemic began.

More than 217 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in the country to date.
