MANILA, : Senator-elect Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito on Wednesday (May 18) said he is hopeful that presumptive President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr will continue the current administration’s drive towards widespread infrastructure development.

Ejercito was referring to the Build, Build, Build programme, President Rodrigo Duterte’s flagship infrastructure initiative.

According to the Department of Public Works and Highways, a total of 12 out of 119 infrastructure projects under the said flagship program have been completed so far.

Two major railway projects are expected to be completed in the last month of the Duterte administration, while 12 projects are scheduled for completion by the end of 2022.

Ejercito, who was speaking during an interview after his official proclamation at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay, said he will continue to defend infrastructure programmes that seek to bring development, jobs, and new opportunities to rural areas around the country.

The returning senator is expected to push for the creation of a comprehensive infrastructure development master plan in his Senate comeback.
