BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN : The country has seen a slight increase in influenza-like illness (ILI) cases where laboratory tests have identified the rhinovirus as a dominant virus circulating in the community, a surveillance on ILI infections conducted by the Ministry of Health (MoH) revealed.

The public is reminded to practise their social responsibility, isolate themselves if feeling unwell and see a doctor if symptoms are severe to control the transmission of ILI infection.

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Mohd Isham Jaafar shared this at the weekly Covid-19 press conference on Monday (June 27).

He said those who test positive on the antigen rapid test (ART), 18 years and above, have chronic illnesses and experiencing severe symptoms of Covid-19 infection can go to the flu clinic at government health centres to ascertain whether they can be prescribed with the anti-viral Covid-19 medication to manage the symptoms of infection from worsening.

The anti-viral medication is best taken within five days from the onset of the first symptom of infection.
