China Mobile Ltd (941.HK)

5G subscribers at China Mobile soared to 794.5m by the end of December 2023, marking a substantial increase from 622.5m in January 2023. Official data released last Wednesday highlighted China’s continuous efforts in advancing its 5G network infrastructure. The number of 5G base stations in the country surpassed 3.28m by the end of November, constituting 28.5% of the total mobile base stations.

Looking ahead, China has ambitious plans to extend its 5G mobile network and optical fibre network, boasting a speed of 1,000 Mbps, to all county and township seats in the border areas of the country by the close of 2025.

Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd (175.HK)

A JV between Mercedes-Benz and Geely, Smart Automobile is blazing a trail in the increasingly competitive new energy vehicle market around the world. The JV, established in 2019, saw its deliveries hit around 70,000 units in 2023. With China and Europe as two of its most important markets, the carmaker has solidified its presence in 22 countries and regions around the world.

NEV sales in China will grow 20% YoY to 11.5m units in 2024, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The company said it will launch an all-new model every year from 2022 to 2025, entering different segments. "With the joint efforts of our global team, smart has reached new levels in global operations, R&D innovation, and product experience," Tong Xiangbei, global CEO of smart Automobile said.

Lenovo Group Ltd (992.HK)

HyperOS will be available on a range of devices including Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13T Pro, Xiaomi 13T, Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12S, Xiaomi Pad 6, and Poco F5.
