PUTRAJAYA: Approved permits (AP) will no longer be needed to import food into the country, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The Prime Minister said the decision was made at the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday (May 18) to ensure food supply is sufficient.
"With immediate effect, anyone can import food into the country.
"If previously an AP is needed to bring in food, there is now no need to get a permit," he said at the Prime Minister's Department Hari Raya gathering on Wednesday (May 18).
