PETALING JAYA: Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki has hit back at PAS, saying if it considers Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as its enemy since the Islamist party is against the big tent approach.

Responding to PAS secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan’s statement on Tuesday (Sept 20) that PAS’ enemy was Pakatan Harapan and their allies under the big tent, the Umno Youth chief said the big tent concept was actually Muhyiddin’s idea.

“Maybe PAS now understands what we (Umno) felt before, where we brought Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia to power, but they betrayed us and tried killing us off,” he said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

He added that this should be a lesson to all, to never work with traitors.

“They (Bersatu) were allies with Pakatan, yet betrayed them.

“They were allies with us, and also betrayed us.

“Now that they are with PAS, I wonder what is going to happen to their future victim,” he said.

He said that despite PAS clearly rejecting the big tent approach, Bersatu continued to brush aside input from Perikatan Nasional's component parties and even tried to form a pact with Pakatan, adding that even Pakatan rejected this.

“Such is the fate of a traitor where they are hated left and right,” he said.

Takiyuddin had said that PAS intended to work with Umno and was against anyone that viewed Barisan as the enemy for the 15th General Election.

He also said that the real enemy was Pakatan and their allies, specifically those under the big tent.
