KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia deputy president Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu has remained tight-lipped over the party's preparations for the 15th General Election (GE15).

He expressed confidence that the party's mission to combat corruption and abuse of power will see it earn the support of the people.

"All I can say is that Bersatu's preparations for the coming general elections are going well.

"Alhamdulillah, the going is good. We hope that because we are against corruption and abuse of power, more people will support us," he said. 

Ahmad Faizal, who is also Youth and Sports Minister, was speaking to reporters at the soft launch of the 2022 Kuala Lumpur Sports Industry Expo (KLSIE 2022) with industry players the Bukit Jalil National Stadium today.

KLSIE 2022, which will run from Oct 6 to 9 at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, will showcase the latest trends in the sports industry and feature conferences, networking sessions, sports industry talks, concerts, food trucks and other sporting activities.

The expo, organised by the Youth and Sports Ministry, is aimed at strengthening the relationship between government agencies and sports stakeholders.

Ahmad Faizal said he hoped that corporate organisations, sports entities, associations, as well as the general public would come together to support EISKL 2022, and that the event would lead to an economic spillover for the country.
