KUALA LUMPUR: It will take two weeks to investigate the cracked viaduct and pier near the Bandaraya LRT station.

Prasarana Malaysia Bhd (Prasarana) group chief operating officer (strategy and development) Prodyut Dutt said the engineering consulting firm appointed by the company had started the investigation yesterday.

"Repairs depend on the results of the investigation that will be presented to the Transport Ministry and Land Public Transport Agency," he said after inspecting the damage at the LRT station here today.

He said a committee comprising officials from Prasarana, the Public Works Department (PWD), Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) and Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) had been formed to monitor the probe.

The LRT service on the Ampang Line between the Bandaraya and Masjid Jamek stations has been disrupted since Jan 27 due to safety concerns after the track was found to be kinked near the Bandaraya LRT station. - Bernama
