KUALA LUMPUR: National oil company Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) is set to benefit from comprehensive, flexible, and innovative cloud-based transformation having signed up for the RISE with SAP solution.

Petronas joined Japan's Fujitsu Ltd and Daiwa House Industry Co Ltd together with India's Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd in having signed up for RISE with SAP, said SAP Malaysia Sdn Bhd in a statement.

RISE with SAP is the enterprise resource planning giant's subscription-based offering that bundles existing SAP tools, technologies and intelligence into a holistic business transformation as a service model.

It enables customers to run as an intelligent enterprise with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, connectivity to SAP Business Network, access to the SAP Business Technology Platform, and a selection of industry cloud solutions - all wrapped up in a single package with business process insights and technical migration tools.

The statement also said that SAP's cloud revenue globally was up 33 per cent to €12.5 billion, up 24 per cent at constant currencies, for its fourth quarter ending December 31, 2022.

In Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ), SAP grew cloud revenue to €417 million for that period, an increase of 28 per sent over same period in 2021, with Japan and India showing particular momentum. Total APJ Q4 2022 revenue grew to €1.171 billion.

SAP president (APJ) Paul Marriott said that digital transformation, supply chain innovation, and sustainable business models continue to be critical for long-term strategic success.

"Leading companies across Asia are realising it is not about lifting and shifting information technology (IT), but driving true financial and sustainable business outcomes through the adoption of technology," he said.
