KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has been given a clean bill of health after undergoing a medical check-up at the National Heart Institute this morning.

He said had been given the go-ahead by doctors to resume duties as per usual.

"I have undergone health check at the National Heart Institute.

"Upon examination and the doctor confirmed that I'm in a good condition, I continue with my work with staff. Alhamdulillah," he said in a post on his Facebook page accompanied by hashtag #MalaysiaMADANI.

Accompanying the post is a picture of him in discussion with three of his officers at his residence in Kajang.

They are his senior political secretary Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin, senior adviser to the prime minister on economics and finance Nurul Izzah Anwar and deputy chief private secretary Shukri Saad.

Anwar, who was supposed to attend the Thaipusam celebration in Batu Caves earlier had to cancel it as he was not feeling well.

Human Resources Minister V. Sivakumar in relaying the information in his speech there said the prime minister had been looking forward to the celebration, but could not be at Batu Caves as he fell ill at the eleventh hour.
