THE government intends to develop a mechanism that will allow members of the public to seek funding directly from the economy ministry, said Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli.

“The system will be operational by the third week of June. However, these allocations would only be for small-scale projects, like tackling clogged drainage in housing areas,” he added.

According to Rafizi, they are now planning such that allocations for public projects can be requested directly from the Economy Ministry by anyone in Malaysia after this.

He claimed that district and state departments can also directly apply to the ministry.

“So there will be no need to go through many layers (within the system). It’s a win-win for everyone,” added Rafizi.
