PUTRAJAYA: The 2024 National Day parade captivated attendees with standout performances, notably the "Cuci Rasuah" (Clean Up Corruption) act and impressive displays from defence and enforcement agencies.

Nur Atikah Che Din, 28, praised the "Cuci Rasuah" performance, describing it as not only creative but deeply meaningful.

She said the message of anti-corruption became evident through the use of cleaning utensils.

Aiman Syahmi, 15, initially thought the act depicted the efforts of Malaysian cleaning workers.

However, he quickly realised it was a commentary on fighting corruption, which resonated strongly with him and heightened his interest in the cause.

The "Cuci Rasuah" performance, conceived by artistic director and concept designer Rosnan Nordin, featured 515 staff members from the National Department of Culture and Arts.

The lively five-minute act, set to a medley of patriotic songs, used cleaning tools like brooms and trash bins to emphasise the show's theme - supporting Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's anti-corruption campaign.

Ahmad Zharif Zulkarnain, 30, expressed his admiration for the military segment, particularly the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) jet fighters' performance.

"Seeing the jets up close ignited a deep sense of respect and admiration for our nation's defenders," he told the News Straits Times.

Ammar Safwan, 25, enjoyed the Customs Department and Fire and Rescue Department performances.

He felt these acts not only received enthusiastic applause from the crowd but also earned praise on social media.

His own involvement with the Fire and Rescue Department influenced his appreciation for their standout performance.
