KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd said its Educational Scholarship Programme (ESP) is a core part of its commitment to nurturing future leaders and innovators.

Managing director Datuk Mohd Izani Ghani said, "We are not just offering financial support through this programme, but we are investing in the potential of these young individuals to drive transformation and progress for both Malaysia Airports and the country."

"The success of our 22 former scholars, now thriving within the organisation, is a testament to this vision. We are confident that the next generation of scholars will continue to push boundaries and redefine excellence."

Since its launch in 2010, the ESP has supported 54 students as part of Malaysia Airports' corporate responsibility (CR) initiatives. Of these, 22 have joined the company, contributing to key departments like engineering, operations, finance, information technology, and human resources.

This year, 432 applications were submitted by students from various institutions and fields of study, with 63 candidates shortlisted based on their academic performance and CGPA.

Following rigorous assessments and interviews, nine scholars were selected. They will receive full support, including coverage for registration and tuition fees, living and book allowances, a laptop, and funding for their thesis and projects, the company said in a statement.

Malaysia Airports also noted that these scholars will benefit from internship opportunities, networking, and semester break assignments aimed at enhancing critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
