PETALING JAYA: Two ex-general managers of an NGO have been arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in a RM60mil fertilizer procurement cartel probe.
The two men, aged between their 50s and 60s, were arrested on Saturday at 8.30pm after giving their statements to graft busters.
One of the suspects was remanded for three days while the other was issued with a four-day remand order.
Both have been arrested to assist investigations into the cartel which the MACC believed had involved an NGO. Elements of bribery and abuse of power were also believed to have been identified in their investigation.
MACC deputy chief commissioner (operations) Datuk Seri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya confirmed the arrest when contacted.
