He graduated from University of Malaya with a Bachelor Degree in Accounting in 1990. He is a Chartered Accountant of Malaysian Institute of Accountants and a member of Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

He started his career as an Audit Assistant with Price Waterhouse (now known as PriceWaterhouseCoopers) in 1990. He was involved in auditing and business advisory of companies from various industries. He left Price Waterhouse in 1993 and joined Ciba Geigy (M) Sdn. Bhd., a Swiss multinational company as an Accountant. Subsequently, he joined Timbermaster Industries Bhd as the Group Accountant. He was responsible for the corporate finance, accounting and secretarial functions of the company and its subsidiaries. In 1999, he joined Tanah Emas Corporation as the Financial Controller. He was principally involved in the listing of Tanah Emas group of companies through the reverse take over of Isuta Holdings Bhd. In 2005, he joined Top Glove Corporation Berhad as Group Financial Controller.
