Datuk Mohd Sofian Bin Alfian Nair is presently the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Sabah. He has over 29 years of experience as a public service officer in various State ministries and departments. He began his career in 1994. He was the District Officer for Tuaran from 2017 until 2021 and was subsequently assigned to the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment, Sabah as the Deputy Permanent Secretary. At the beginning of 2022, he was transferred to the Ministry of Finance, Sabah as the Deputy Permanent Secretary until June 2022 before being promoted to the current position.
