Dato Ir. Mat Rosly Bin Mat Daud ("Dato Rosly") began his career in the Department for Infrastructure, South Australia in 1983 as the Trainee Engineer.

In 1984, he joined the Malaysian Public Works Department as a Design Engineer. In 2012, he assumed the role of the Head of the Central Zone Project Management Division of the Road Section. He then acted as the Construction Director of the Project Team for the Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex Project from October 2016 to January 2018.

In 2018, he briefly served as the Director of the Road Facilities Maintenance section of the Public Works Department before joining the Ministry of Works as Secretary of Highway Planning Division. In 2020, he was appointed as the Technical Advisor to the Senior Minister of Works until November 2022. He currently holds the position of Technical Advisor at Minconsult Sdn. Bhd.
