Mr Wan started his career as a Systems Analyst with the Ministry of Justice in 1985.

He subsequently joined CIMB in 1988. He has been with the bank for more than 36 years. He had taken on various leadership roles in the bank. He had also been deeply involved in the Technology aspects of every Merger and Acquisition (M&A) exercise that the bank had undertaken.

His last position in the bank was the Senior Managing Director of Business Services for Group Technology, where he was responsible in heading the various Technology teams for Consumer Banking, Digital Banking, Wholesale Banking, Islamic Banking, Transaction Banking and Commercial Banking, and Operations.
