B.A. degree in International Relations from the University of Malay in 1970, a post graduate Diploma in Shariah Law and Practice from the International Islamic University, Malaysia in 1991, a law degree (LL.B) from the University of London in 1990, and a Master of Arts (Public Policy and Administration), majoring in Economic Development, from the University of Wisconsin in 1978.
Working Experience
He is an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. He worked in several ministries and goverment agencies in Malaysia over a 30-year period, where he held various key positions including Director General of Road Transport Department at the Ministry of Transport from 1974 to 1998, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs from 1998 to 2001 and Chairman of the Patent Board and the Controller of Copyright from 1998 to 2001.
