He is a chartered accountant by profession and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a Fellow of the Malaysian Institute of Taxation, a Chartered Accountant (Malaysia) and a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Having trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte Haskins & Sells, UK (now part of Pricewaterhouse Coopers, UK). He was also formerly the Head of Corporate Services Division of a "Big 4" accounting firm in Kuala Lumpur for over 10 years.

He is currently in practice as President/CEO of Archer Corporate Services Sdn Bhd, Archer Tax Services Sdn Bhd and Archer Consulting Group Sdn Bhd.
